Biography
Filthy Christians is a Swedish grindcore and thrash metal band from Falun, Dalarna, Sweden. Formed in 1985, they released their first recording, In Bengt We Trust, as a flexidisc in 1986. In 1988, the group collaborated with G-Anx on a split titled Fri som en fågel⦠/ Filthy Christians under the label Gore Core Records. The following year, they contributed "Extremely Bad Breath" to the compilation LP Grindcrusher, which featured notable grindcore acts such as Napalm Death and Carcass. In April 1990, their debut studio album, Mean, was released by Earache Records. Filthy Christians continued with a demo in 1992 and an EP titled Nailed in 1994. The band's extreme musical violence and politically charged lyrics made them pioneers of the grindcore genre.
