Federico Ughi, born on October 11, 1972, in Rome, Italy, is a drummer and composer known for his work in jazz and free improvisation. He began playing drums at the age of twelve. In 1994, Ughi moved to England, joined a quartet, and studied with pianist Paul Bley. After 2000, he relocated to New York City, where he performed as a duo with Daniel Carter. Notable collaborations include work with Steve Dalachinsky and DJ Food. His discography includes Astonishment (2001) and Peopleâs Resonance (2008) with Carter.
