Biography

Italian pianist and composer born in Milan in 1982, Federico Albanese is part of the "crossover" classical music movement, with minimalist pieces, ambient atmospheres and works for the screen. Trained on piano and clarinet, he later learned to play bass and turned to rock, soul and electronic music. In 2007, he and singer Jessica Einaudi, daughter of Ludovico Einaudi, founded the duo La Blanche Alchimie, which produced two albums. Seven years later, Albanese unveils his first solo album, The Houseboat and the Moon, released by Denovali Records. His music combining acoustic piano, electronic keyboards and environmental recordings fuels the albums The Blue Hour (2016), By the Deep Sea (2018), Before and Now Seems Infinite (2022) and Days of Passage (2023). In addition to successful tours around the world, the pianist also composes themes for advertising, television and film, including the soundtracks for the documentary film The Twelve (2019) and Last Swim (2024). In 2025, the Berlin-based musician signed the album Blackbirds and the Sun of October.
