Fanny LucÃa MartÃnez Buenaventura (aka Fanny Lu, born on February 8, 1973) is a Colombian singer, actress, and model. Known in her home country as âThe Queen of Tropipop,â she rose to fame in 1998 after starring in the soap opera Perro Amor. Lágrimas cálidas, her 2006 debut, featured the hit single âNo te pido flores,â which reached Number 1 on Billboardâs Tropical chart and was nominated for a Latin Grammy. Dos, released in 2008, became one of the top-selling albums in Colombia and spawned the Top 5 hit âTú no eres para mÃ.â Felicidad y Perpetua came out in 2011, featuring collaborations with reggaeton artists Chino y Nacho, Zion y Lennox, and Dálmata. During 2012, Lu was a judge on the second season of Mexican music reality show Pequeños Gigantes and a coach on Colombian talent show La Voz. That same year, she released her first greatest hits compilation Voz Y Ãxitos. After a string of successful singles in 2016 and 2017, she teamed up with Puertorrican trap artist Noriel in 2018 for the track âRomper el hielo,â whose video was shot in Miami and premiered by Billboard. She spent the following years collaborating with Latin artists such as Andrés Cepeda (âAmor Verdaderoâ), Jorge Celedón (âCosas Bonitasâ), and Andrés Cuervo (âNo Pidamos Perdónâ).
