E.T.A. was a Danish electronic dance music duo formed in 1997, comprising two producers who emerged from Copenhagenâs underground club scene, Thomas Hyde and Per Lind. Their collaboration began after meeting at a local rave in 1995, and they adopted the name Estimated Time of Arrival to reflect their rapid production style. Their first breakthrough came with the 1997 single "Casual Sub (Burning Spear)", which showcased the duoâs signature big beat sound and attracted attention from local labels, leading to a formal release of the maxi-single Ayia Napa in 1999 that received moderate club play across Scandinavia. In 2000 the duo released the full-length album No Smoking, that earned them a nomination for Best Electronic Artist at the Danish Music Awards the same year; the album was distributed by a regional independent label and accompanied by a small European tour. Following the release, E.T.A. focused on remix projects and collaborations with other Scandinavian DJs, but the group disbanded in late 2001 after the death of one member, who passed away in 2001; posthumously, a compilation of unreleased material was issued in 2003, preserving their influence on the Danish EDM scene.
