Biography

TÃ©mpano, a Venezuelan progressive rock group formed in Caracas in 1977, initially featured Gerardo Ubieda on drums, Pedro Castillo DÃaz on guitar and vocals, Miguel Ãngel Echevarreneta on guitar, and Leonardo Arias on bass. Their debut album Ãtabal-YÃ©mal was released in 1980 and is considered one of the most important progressive rock records in Venezuela. The band achieved significant success with covers such as "Lobo hombre en ParÃs" by La UniÃ³n in 1988. TÃ©mpano underwent numerous lineup changes, with Gerardo Ubieda being the sole constant member. Subsequent albums include Childhood's End / El Fin De La Infancia (2000) and The Agony & The Ecstasy (2002).
