Biography

Esther Lamandier is a French soprano and harpist born in 1946. She achieved professional recognition for explorations in early chant and monodic music and for frequently accompanying herself on the harp, vielle, or portative organ. Lamandier is a specialist in Assyrian and Sephardic Jewish song and the Hebrew biblical chant transcriptions of Suzanne Haïk-Vantoura. Her recording career began with the debut studio recording Decameron - Ballate monodiques de l'Ars Nova Florentine (1980), followed by Alfonso El Sabio Cantigas De Santa Maria (1981). Her discography includes the studio recordings Romances - Chansons et Complaintes Séfarades (1982), Chansons de toile au temps du Roman de la rose (1983), and Romances II - Berceuses Et Complaintes Séfarades Et Chants Araméens (1984). She released the studio recordings Domna (1987), Chansons Andalouses Et Tangos (1988), and Chants Chrétiens Araméens (1989).
