Alice Vanâ¯Eesbeeck, professionally known as Essyla (born 30â¯Marchâ¯1996 in Perwez, Belgium), is a Belgian singerâsongwriter trained at the Royal Institute of Music and Pedagogy in Namur. She first appeared on the national stage as a member of the Belgian choir Almakalia in 2019, before returning to the spotlight in 2021 when she competed in the ninth season of The Voice Belgium and finished as runnerâup behind Jérémieâ¯Makiese. After the show, she worked as a backing vocalist for artists such as Ben'do and Typhâ¯Barrow. In 2023 she released her debut single "Let You Go" and her first EP I'll Be Okay, adopting the stage name Essyla, and issued the single "Not My Kind of Dude" . Her 2024 releases included "Your Letters" and "Alone Tonight", and in 2025 she launched "Tip Toe". On 19â¯Februaryâ¯2026, RTBF announced Essyla would represent Belgium at the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 in Vienna with "Dancing on the Ice", a song that earned her tenth place in the first semiâfinal with 91 points and a twentyâfirst place finish in the grand final. She previously served on the Belgian jury for Eurovision 2024.
