Ernst Mosch was born on November 7, 1925 in Zwodau, Czechoslovakia. He grew up in Egerland and received musical training as a trombonist at an early age. After the Second World War, he lived in Germany and initially played in various dance and entertainment orchestras. In 1956, he founded the Original Egerländer Musikanten in Germaringen, which quickly became one of the best-known brass bands in Europe. The members include well-known musicians from the brass band scene in changing line-ups, who together with Ernst Mosch shape the Egerländer sound. The ensemble stands for traditional Bohemian brass music, which has achieved great popularity worldwide with its unmistakable, melodic style. Ernst Mosch released numerous albums with the Original Egerländer Musikanten, including So schön ist Blasmusik (1966), Goldene Blasmusik (1973) and Musikantenliebe (1980). Several productions achieve gold status in Germany, including 40 Jahre Egerländer Musikanten (1996). Ernst Mosch dies on May 15, 1999 in Germaringen, Bavaria. The orchestra continues its work under new management and preserves the musical legacy of its founder to this day.
