Biography

Erik Leuthäuser is a German jazz singer and composer known for blending jazz and experimental pop. Introduced to music by his father, a jazz guitarist, Leuthäuser sang in a school band and received piano training before attending the Sächsisches Landesgymnasium für Musik Carl Maria von Weber. Leuthäuser released his debut album In the Land of Oo-Bla-Dee in 2015. His second studio album, Wünschen, was released by MPS Records in 2018 with notable collaborators including Kurt Rosenwinkel and Joey Baron. He has performed as a solo vocalist and collaborated with artists such as Arta Jēkabsone. Leuthäuser's achievements include winning the Ella Fitzgerald Jazz Vocal Competition in 2018 and receiving a nomination in the vocal category for the German Jazz Prize in 2025.
