Enzo Pietropaoli, born on September 29, 1955, in Genoa, Italy, is an Italian jazz bassist. He moved to Rome in 1961 and began his professional career in 1975 with the "Trio di Roma," alongside pianist Danilo Rea and drummer Roberto Gatto. Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, Pietropaoli collaborated extensively with various groups, including Lingomania and Doctor 3, both of which won multiple awards from the Italian magazine Musica Jazz. His notable collaborations include performances with international jazz greats such as Chet Baker, Pat Metheny, and John Scofield. He released several albums as a leader, including Orange Park (1989) and Stolen Songs (1998). Pietropaoli's work spans over 60 recordings, showcasing his versatility in blending jazz with classical influences and Italian pop music of the 1960s.
