Biography

Empty Trash was formed in Berlin in November 2005 by Max Buskohl and Per Blut, joined later by Stefan Kull and Julius Murke, and was a four‑member German rock band. Their breakthrough came in 2007 when Buskohl participated in Deutschland sucht den Superstar, after which the band signed with EMI and released the debut single "Limited" on 19 October 2007, entering the German charts. Their first album Confession was released on 23 November 2007, produced by Patrik Berger and Carl Carlton. The single "Garden of Growing Hearts" (14 March 2008) served as the title track for the film Die Welle. The band toured Germany in late 2007 and early 2008, experienced lineup changes with the departures of Blut and Kull, and added new members Jörn Schwarzburger and Philipp Stüber. After announcing their split on 12 December 2009, Empty Trash held a farewell concert on 12 February 2010 in Berlin, marking the end of the group’s active career.
