Biography

Born in Caneyville, Kentucky on 22 May 1988, Elvie Shane expanded on the church music and traditional country he learned from his father growing up to forge his own career as a gospel and country singer. He began performing in 2012 and four years later made an appearance on American Idol, which ultimately led to a deal with Nashville's Wheelhouse label in 2020. He put himself on the country music map that same year with his debut breakout single "My Boy," a poignant meditation on fatherhood that earned him a new legion of fans and a platinum certification with the RIAA. His debut LP Backslider appeared the following year and produced the "County Roads" single, which was a moderate hit on country radio. The single also formed the title of an EP of the same name, released in 2021. A slew of singles helped to tease the release of his next album. "Forgotten Man," "Baptized," "Pill" and "Jonesin" featuring Jamie McClelland were all released in 2023 while 2024 culminated in the release of his Damascus full-length, preceded by the singles "What Do I Know" and "Does Heaven Have a Creek."
