Biography

Elisio Borges De Vasconcelos, known professionally as Elizio, was born in 1979 in Luanda, Angola. He is a singer known for incorporating styles such as zouk, kizomba, kuduro, dancefloor, electro, pop, and urban music. Fleeing civil war at age two, he settled in France with his mother. His musical journey began with performances on international stages in 2001. Elizio's breakthrough came in 2003 with the release of "10 fois, 100 fois" featuring Perle Lama, which topped the Afro-Caribbean charts for six months and won the Dynamitch d'or for Best Duo in 2004. His debut solo album, Original Di Cabo Verde (2003), included successful tracks like "Melodia", "Amor" with Princess Lover, and "Chupa" with Kaysha. Subsequent albums include Carpe Diem (2005) and Confirmaçao (2008), the best-selling Afro-Lusophone album of 2009, which earned him a nomination for the Kora Music Awards. Notable singles include "Amor Amor" (2010).
