Oliver N'Goma, born Oliver on March 23, 1959, in Mayumba, Gabon, was a singer known for his contributions to Afro-zouk and world music. His father, an harmonium player, introduced him to music at the age of eight. In 1971, N'Goma moved to Libreville where he studied comptability while playing guitar with Capo Sound, the school orchestra. He later worked as a camera operator for RTG 2 and met Manu Lima during a Paris stage in 1988. Their collaboration led to the release of Bane (1990), which included the hit title track "Bane" that became popular across Africa and France. His subsequent albums, Adia (1995) and Seva (2001), further solidified his career. N'Goma passed away on June 7, 2010, due to renal failure in Libreville.
