Biography

Hailed by The New Yorker as "The Queen of Christmas," Elizabeth Chan is an Asian-American pop singer who exclusively writes and performs holiday material. Born on August 9, 1980, she was raised in New York City by a family of Chinese and Filipino immigrants. Chan fell in love with the winter holidays as a child and, years later, quit her job in the magazine industry to become a full-time Christmas musician. Naughty & Nice, her debut EP, was released in 2012, followed by the full-length effort Everyday Holidays in 2013. The latter album featured her first hit, "Fa La La," which climbed to Number 7 on the Adult Contemporary chart in America. Another holiday record, Christmas in the City, was released in 2014 and spawned a Top 30 hit with its title track, which also appeared on the album Red and Green in 2015. Five Golden Rings was released during the 2016 holiday season, while "Ghosts of Christmas Past" — a track from the 2017 album Songs for Noelle — became a Number 12 chart on Billboard's Adult Contemporary chart. "Best Gift Ever," the title track from her 2018 record, hit Number 8 on the same chart, further solidifying Elizabeth Chan's reputation as a holiday hitmaker. Continuing to release new material on an annual basis, she earned another pair of Top 30 adult contemporary hits with 2020's "Celebrate Me Home" and 2021's "A Christmas Song (10th Anniversary)," the latter of which first appeared on her debut album, Everyday Holidays.
