Elaiza Ikeda (æ± ç° ã¨ã©ã¤ã¶, Ikeda Eraiza, born April 16, 1996 in Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan) rose to fame as a model after winning the Grand Prix Nicola Model Audition in 2009 and later added singing and acting to her credentials. Born to a mother of Spanish Filipino Chinese descent and a Japanese father, the Filipino-Japanese star known mononymously as Elaiza debuted as an actor in 2015 Japanese comedy-drama The Virgin Psychics, playing the role of Miyuki Hirano, and has since appeared in a range of manga, TV shows and movies, portraying Satoko Aida in Netflix original The Many Faces of Ito (2018) and Momoko in 2022 movie Haw, stopping at myriad other projects along the way. In 2020, she made her film directing debut in Town Without Sea and officially stepped out as a singer the following year, unveiling the song âClose to youâ from her debut album Shitsurakuen (Paradise Lost) for Universal Music.
