Elaine Delmar, born Elaine Pamela Hutchinson on September 1, 1939, in Harpenden, England, is a British singer and actress. She began her musical journey at age six learning the piano and later performed on BBC's Children's Hour. At sixteen, she started touring with her father Leslie "Jiver" Hutchinson's band. Delmar's professional singing career commenced in the mid-1950s when she joined Coleridge Goode's group The Dominoes. Her solo career began after leaving The Dominoes and included overseas tours and club performances. Notable albums include Strike Up The Bard (1964), Elaine Sings Wilder (1966), and La Belle Elaine (1968). She also released singles such as "I Loves You Porgy" (1959) and "That Old Feeling" (1960). Delmar's acting career includes roles in the musicals Finian's Rainbow, No Strings, and Cowardy Custard. She appeared in Ken Russellâs film Mahler (1974), playing the Bohemian Princess.
