Ego Likeness is an American darkwave and industrial rock band from Baltimore, Maryland, formed in 1999 by artist Steven Archer and writer Donna Lynch. The duo began as an experimental trip-hop project, releasing their first demo, Songs from a Dead City, in 1999. In 2000, they released their debut full-length album, Dragonfly. After signing with Dancing Ferret Discs, Ego Likeness released Water to the Dead in 2004 and embarked on extensive tours across Germany, Luxembourg, and the United States. Notable albums include The Order of the Reptile (2006) and Breedless (2010), which received critical acclaim from magazines such as ReGen and Reflections of Darkness. Between 2007 and 2012, the band released a four-part EP series collectively titled The Compass. Ego Likeness also contributed to multiple volumes of the cancer-benefit compilations Electronic Saviors. In 2015, they released the album When the Wolves Return, followed by the Wolves EP (2020) and a single covering Madonna's "Live to Tell" (2023).
