Eddie Shu, born Edward Shulman on August 18, 1918 in New York City, was an American jazz musician. He started his musical career in 1935 in Brooklyn, performing in vaudeville and as a ventriloquist in nightclubs. During World War II, Shu served in the United States Army from 1942 to 1945, entertaining troops with his music. Post-discharge, he collaborated with notable figures such as Tadd Dameron (1947), Lionel Hampton (1949â1950), and Gene Krupa (1954â1958). In the 1960s, Shu moved to Florida, continuing his musical journey with Louis Armstrongâs All-Stars. Eddie Shu passed away on July 4, 1986 in St Petersburg, Florida.
