Dynamite Hack was an American post-grunge band formed in Austin, Texas in 1997. The group took its name from a line in the film Caddyshack, where Carl Spackler describes the marijuana he is smoking as "dynamite hack." They are best known for their cover of "Boyz-n-the-Hood", an acoustic re-imagining of Eazy-E's rap single, which was released as the first single from their 2000 album Superfast. The song peaked at number 12 on the Billboard Modern Rock Tracks chart and was featured in the tribute album Take a Bite Outta Rhyme: A Rock Tribute to Rap. Following the success of "Boyz-n-the-Hood," Dynamite Hack recorded their second album, How to Break Up a Band, which was expected to be released in 2011. The single "Sunshine" from the album was released on July 11, 2011. The band also released other works, including Pillowhead (1998), Beardsley Mitchell (EP, 2015), and Loaded with Cobras (February 2019).
