Dorothy Michelle Provine, born on January 20, 1935 in Deadwood, South Dakota, was an American singer, dancer, and actress. She studied drama at the University of Washington in Seattle before moving to Hollywood. Her breakthrough came when she was hired by Warner Bros., leading to her first film role in The Bonnie Parker Story (1958). Dorothy Provine's television career included appearances in series such as Wagon Train, Cimarron City, and Sugarfoot. She gained significant recognition for her role as Pinky Pinkham in the ABC/WB series The Roaring 20s (1960-1962), which also featured her singing. During this period, she released two singles that charted in the UK: "Don't Bring Lulu" (number 17 in 1961) and "Crazy Words, Crazy Tune" (number 45 in 1962). Her filmography includes notable works such as It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World (1963), Good Neighbor Sam (1964), and Never a Dull Moment (1968). She married director Robert Day in 1968 and retired from acting shortly thereafter. Dorothy Michelle Provine passed away on April 25, 2010, in Bremerton, Washington, due to emphysema.
