Biography
DJ Sabrina the Teenage DJ, real name Sabrina Spellman and also known as DJSTTDJ, is a British DJ from London. With her name inspired by the TV series Sabrina the Teenage Witch, broadcast in the late 1990s, the DJ makes her own sounds from an old tape recorder, drum machines and vintage synthesizers salvaged from flea markets and charity stores. She then uses the computer to create her own tracks based on dozens of samples. Her immutable process of sampling and collage gives rise to numerous albums, starting with Makin' Magick in 2017, followed by Witchkraft (2018), Spellbound! and Enchanted (2019), Charmed (2020), The Makin' Magick II Album and The Other Realm (2021), then Bewitched! (2022). Influenced by the French Touch, Chicago house and other DJs and producers such as Aphex Twin and The Avalanches, DJ Sabrina also produces mixtapes and mix albums on commission. Her discography expands with the albums Destiny (2023), then Hex and Sorcery released in 2024.
