DJ Lag, born Lwazi Asanda Gwala in South Africa, is a DJ and record producer known for pioneering the gqom genre. DJ Lag released his debut EP via WhatsApp in 2016, marking the start of his career with unconventional distribution methods. In 2016, he gained global recognition with performances at Unsound Festival in Poland and Seoul's Cake Shop.
