Mark Christopher Shrimpton is a British electronic dance musician who performs under the pseudonym Distant Soundz. Shrimpton began producing music by the late 1990s, releasing vinyl and CD singles that blended electronic dance, garage, and house influences. His breakthrough came in early 2002 with the garage cover âTime After Timeâ featuring Robbie Beaumont, which peaked at Number 20 on the United Kingdom Singles Chart and received airplay on BBC Radio Two as well as television appearances on Channel Four and BBC Oneâs Top of the Pops. The same year, âRunawayâ received support from DJ Sasha and became a favourite on Capital 95.8, while âJust Wanna Luv Uâ featuring Damae of Fragma reached number 46 on the United Kingdom Independent Singles Chart. In 2009, Shrimpton collaborated with Rozalla on âLovefoolâ, released through Clubland Records. His 2012 single âFairytalesâ featuring Sydney Jo Jackson garnered support from DJ EZ and was featured on Sky channel music playlists. Rather than issuing a full-length debut album at that time, Shrimpton continued releasing singles and EP-length projects, later issuing the album Time After Time on 14 December 2018, reflecting his continued presence in the electronic music scene.
