Biography

Disco Ruido, formed in 2009, is a Mexican electronic rock project initiated by producer Julián Placencia in collaboration with fellow DJs and friends. The group initially performed live shows similar to DJ sets, gaining recognition in Mexico City's electronic scene. Their breakthrough came in April 2009 with the release of "Mrs. Love", a song based on samples from The Beatles' "You Know My Name (Look Up The Number)". This track topped The Hype Machine's popularity chart and was listed as number 4 on Mexican radio station Reactor 105's "Best Of 2009" list. In 2010, Disco Ruido released their debut album Sistema Solar, featuring themes of love, nature, and the cosmos. The band also started Vox Humana, a side project focusing on dance-oriented tracks, which resulted in two EPs and a club tour across Mexico, Costa Rica, and the United States. Notable remixes include works for Molotov, Zoé, and Kinky.
