Biography

David Aaron Shayman, known professionally as Disco D, was an American record producer and composer. He began his music career as a teenager, purchasing his first set of belt-driven turntables in 1995 while attending Pioneer High School. By the late 1990s, he was performing as a DJ and had released early production work and a 12-inch single. In 1999, he co-produced the first single for Ghostly International under the alias Daisha. Shayman moved to Brooklyn in 2002, where he founded Booty Bar Records and released the Booty Bar Anthem EP. He collaborated with artists such as Princess Superstar and later produced work for mainstream acts, including Kevin Federline. Disco D died on January 23, 2007.
