Biography

Horondino José da Silva, known as Dino 7 Cordas, born on May 5, 1918, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, was a Brazilian guitarist. He began his musical journey at a young age, initially playing the bandolim before transitioning to the guitar. His early career saw him performing with Augusto Calheiros and joining the Regional de Benedito Lacerda in 1937, replacing Nei Orestes on guitar. Dino 7 Cordas became one of the pioneers of the seven-string guitar in Brazil, crafting his first instrument in 1954. He is known for his collaborations with Raphael Rabello, including their album Raphael Rabello & Dino 7 Cordas, released in 1991. Throughout his career, he contributed significantly to choro and samba music, creating arrangements for notable figures like Cartola. Dino 7 Cordas passed away on May 27, 2006, leaving behind a lasting impact on Brazilian guitar music.
