Die Freudenspender was a German pop and schlager group active from the early 1960s through the 1970s, known for their upbeat “stimmungsmusik” and drinking songs. The ensemble, formed in 1961, released their debut single "Trink doch dem Kindchen die Milch nicht weg" on Metronome, which reached number 23 on the German charts on 1 February 1962, marking their first chart success. Over the next decade the group issued a series of singles such as "Ich bau mir eine Peiplein" (1962), "Prost Prost Prösterchen" (1964), and "Wenn die Feuerwehr mit Bier spritzt" (1969), all featuring the songwriting work of Heinz Schumacher (Ronny Hein) alongside collaborators Hans Werner, Joe Burgner, Fred Arand, Dieter Rasch, and Georg Rüßmann (Wal Barny). Their discography remained concentrated on single releases; no full‑length albums were issued during their active years. The group continued to record with Metronome until 1975, after which they produced a handful of medley singles for WPL in the mid‑1980s, including "Stimmung – Marsch" (1984) and "Feiern ist uns're Welt" (1985). Die Freudenspender ceased activity in the late 1980s.
