Biography

Born Mikael Castelle on July 2, 1987, Deen Burbigo is a French rapper who rose to prominence through a series of freestyles on his video streaming channel. Hailing from Toulon, Castelle started rapping under the name Ahmadeen and was a part of the hip-hop collectives La Relève, Retorist, and Guerilla Music. After relocating to Paris in 2008 and obtaining a history degree at the Sorbonne, he began participating in rap battles on the Rap Contenders series. Dîn, Rimes & Intérim, his debut EP, arrived in 2010 and was followed by the EPs Inception (2012) and Fin d'Après-Minuit (2014). That same year, Castelle was featured on Jeunes Entrepreneurs, the debut album by hip-hop collective L’Entourage alongside Alpha Wann, Jazzy Bazz, and Nekfeu. His breakthrough moment arrived in 2017 with the release of Grand Cru, his debut LP, which quickly achieved gold status in France after selling 50,000 copies. It took three years for Castelle to deliver his much-anticipated sophomore effort, Cercle Vertueux (2020), a minimalist trap album that saw the light via his own Saboteur Records and featured guest spots by Alpha Wann, Eff Gee, and EDGE.
