David Sharman, known professionally as Dave Sharman, is a guitarist and singer-songwriter known for his work in rock and metal music. He began teaching himself guitar at age nine. His breakthrough came when rock DJ Tommy Vance invited him to perform on the BBC Radio 1 Friday Rock Show in 1989, leading to a record deal with Noise Records and the release of his debut instrumental album 1990. Sharman's guitar work caught the attention of Ian Gillan, leading to collaborations on Gillan's solo project. In 1992, Sharman released Exit Within, marking a transition to song-based work with vocals by Thomas Brache. His subsequent albums included Here 'n Now (1994) and Evolution Machine (2013).
