Troy David Beetles, known professionally as Datsik, and born on June 9, 1988, in Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada, is a Canadian DJ and producer. He began his career as a DJ and dubstep producer after being inspired by Excision's performance at the Shambhala Music Festival in 2008. Datsik released his EP, Against the Machines, in 2009. His early collaborations with artists like Flux Pavilion and Excision led to notable releases such as "Boom" (2009) and "Swagga" (2009). In 2012, Datsik released his debut album Vitamin D, which featured appearances from Downlink and Infected Mushroom. Throughout his career, he performed at major festivals including Coachella and Ultra Music Festival. In January 2012, Datsik founded Firepower Records, signing a variety of bass and dubstep producers. However, in March 2018, he stepped away from the label due to accusations of abuse.
