Biography
Born in Althofen in Carinthia, Austrian pop singer Florian Gruber aka RIAN learned to play drums and later other instruments as a self-taught musician in his youth before he started writing songs. His first single "Belong to You" was released in 2017, followed by "Like a Rockstar", which is on the menu of his first, fully English-language album Rian (2018). Since 2022, RIAN has been singing in German in a light, melodic pop style, with titles such as "Ironisch verliebt", "Schwarzes Schaf" or "Frechdachs", followed by the EP Rian Allein zu Haus (2023). He gradually gained notoriety via social networks before having his first hit in 2024 with "Verwandtschaftstreffen", which made it to number 21 in the Austrian charts. The song was further developed with new songs on the three EPs Wenn ich alt bin, Die Geschichte vom kleinen Mann and Fast Egal as well as in a Christmas version on "Verwandtschaftstreffen (Weinnachtversion)". His album Blumendisko is released at the beginning of 2026. It reaches number 58 in the Austrian charts.
