Biography

Born in Althofen, Carinthia, Austrian pop singer Florian Gerd Gruber aka RIAN taught himself to play drums and then other instruments in his youth, before starting to compose songs. Released in 2017, his debut single "Belong to You" was followed by "Like a Rockstar", on the menu of his all-English debut album Rian (2018). Since 2022, RIAN has been singing in German in a light, melodic pop style, with tracks like "Ironisch verliebt", "Schwarzes schaf" and "Frechdachs", followed by the Rian Allein zu Haus EP in 2023. He gradually gained notoriety through social networks, before his first hit, "Verwandtschaftstreffen", reached No. 21 in the Austrian charts in 2024. The track is featured with new songs on the three EPs Wenn ich alt bin, Die Geschichte vom kleinen Mann and Fast Egal, then in a Christmas version on "Verwandtschaftstreffen (Weinnachtversion)".
