He began his career as a percussionist and composer, initially gaining recognition for his work with various bands. His breakthrough came with the release of Birthing Days (2013), which included the single "Drummer's Corpse". Pride has collaborated extensively with artists across multiple genres, including Anthony Braxton and Millions of Dead Cops. He leads several ensembles such as From Bacteria To Boys, Drummer's Corpse, and I HATE WORK, showcasing his versatility in jazz and improvised music. Notable albums include Betweenwhile (2010) with From Bacteria to Boys and collaborations like The Exterminating Angel (2012) with Kirk Knuffke. Pride has toured extensively on four continents and appeared on over 100 recordings.
