Biography

Éric Dion and André Lavergne two Quebecers of Gaspesian origin have been musical accomplices since the early 2000s. In 2013, the two friends and musicians decided to create the Dans l'Shed project. Their first EP, Dans l'Shed, was released in 2014, featuring original compositions with a folk-country-blues flavour. This opus earned them an official selection at the Festival en chanson de Petite-Vallée, where they won the SOCAN award for the song "Dans l'bois". Their albums Rivière Rouge (2015) and Gaspéricana (2017) are included in ICI Musique's list of the 50 best albums of the year. Gaspéricana also won the Prix du CALQ / Oeuvre de l'année en Gaspésie. In 2019, Les Sessions Liégeoises, an EP recorded in Liège, Belgium, features four songs taken from the first three albums, but completely rearranged. January 2021 sees the release of Vallée Embrumée, inspired by the concept of Bob Dylan's 1965 album Bringing It All Back Home. It features Americana folksongs in which lyrics take center stage. For this album, they collaborate with Benoit Pinette (Tire le coyote) on co-production.
