Danny Gaither, born Daniel Joseph Gaither on November 20, 1938, in Alexandria, Indiana, was a gospel singer who began performing at age three. He was an original member of the Bill Gaither Trio, performing at churches and religious events. He later joined the Golden Keys Quartet and taught industrial arts in Ohio. In 1977, Gaither started a solo career, releasing albums such as Singing to the World, It Is Well With My Soul, Sing a Song of Love, and Sweet & High. He was a finalist for the GMA Dove Award in the Best Male Gospel Vocalist category in 1973 and 1974. Gaither died on April 6, 2001, at age 62 from lymphoma.
