Dalila Alejandra Molina Chanquia, known professionally as Dalila or La Diosa del Verbo Amar, was born on October 3, 1970, in Rosario, Santaâ¯Fe, Argentina, and began singing at a young age. She won her first amateur singing contest at fourteen and entered the professional scene in 1998 when Mario Ãlvarez introduced her on MusicalÃsimo, recording a duet with the group Trinidad. Her debut solo album, Un Cuerpo Sin Alma (1999), launched her national career and led to a tour across Argentina. In 2001 the album Amor Entre Mujeres achieved widespread commercial success, cementing her status as a tropical pop artist. Subsequent releases such as Por Amor a la Música (2003), Heridas (2006), and Ausencias (2009) continued to perform strongly on the charts and earned her multiple Carlos Gardel awards for Best Female Tropical Artist in 2005, 2012, and 2015. Live recordings-including En Vivo en el Gran Rex (2015) and En Vivo en Ciudad Cultural Konex (2018)-document her sustained popularity, while compilations like 20 Grandes Ãxitos (2010) and Inolvidables (2014) showcase her enduring catalog. In the second half of the 2010s she released Solo un momento (2017) and Inigualable (2018), with the latter nominated for Best Female Tropical Album at the 2019 Gardel awards, while maintaining frequent theatre dates such as recurring appearances at the Teatro Gran Rex. Entering the 2020s she focused on new recordings for Magenta, issuing the single "Aunque sea en otra vida" in 2020, the live set Mi vida (En Vivo) in 2021, the covers- and ballad-oriented EP Evidencias in 2022 featuring a collaboration with La San Francisco on "Lo que son las cosas", and the studio album Vida in 2023, alongside live and compilation releases such as En Vivo en Diversión and Favoritos that revisited hits like "Dejémoslo asÃ", "Fiera inquieta" and "Y que de mÃ".
