Craig Lynden Sharmat, born on October 8, 1957 in New York City, is an American composer and guitarist. He studied music at Syracuse University, University of Arizona, and the Musicians Institute. Sharmat's early career involved playing gigs and sessions, moving to Las Vegas by 1983 for showroom performances. In 1985, he returned to Los Angeles and became the guitarist for saxman Ronnie Laws. His first significant television scoring project was Disney's Kids Incorporated, which he arranged and composed for the final three years of the series. Since 1995, he has written music for Americaâs Most Wanted and worked with Sirens Media on shows like The Real Housewives of New Jersey. Sharmat's jazz albums include So Cal Drivin' (2009), Outside In (2010), which features the song "Ease Up" that reached number 2 on the Billboard Smooth Jazz chart, Bleu Horizons (2013), and Nouveau (2019).
