Conjunto Chaney is a Puerto Rican romantic salsa ensemble founded in 1980 by percussionist Nicolás Vivas alongside singer Jerry Rivas, emerging as a fresh voice in the islandâs salsa scene. Throughout the 1980s, they developed a devoted following with emotionally charged performances in Puerto Ricoâs dance halls, and by the early 1990s they achieved breakthrough success with albums like El Conjunto del Amor (1992) and La Escuela de la Salsa (1993), earning acclaim across Latin America for masterful brass-driven arrangements and heartfelt lyrics.
