Claudio Puntin, born in 1965 in Zug, Switzerland, is a clarinetist, music producer, and composer. He began playing the clarinet at the age of nine and trained as a goldsmith from 1981 to 1985. Puntin studied clarinet, bass clarinet, jazz, and contemporary music in Cologne and Rotterdam. His early career included forming various ensembles such as the Schorn Puntin Duo with Steffen Schorn, which toured worldwide. Notable collaborations include the Claudio Puntin Trio and the World Clarinet Quartet. He has also taught at institutions such as the University of the Arts Berlin. His notable awards include the WDR Jazz Prize in 2004. He has composed music for films, theater, and exhibitions, including "Soundless Wind Chime" (2009) and "Stoma" (2016). Puntin's work as a composer includes the concert suite AROMA, premiered in 2016 with the Minnesota Orchestra. He has also taught at institutions such as the University of the Arts Berlin. He was nominated for the German Music Author Prize of GEMA. in 2022.
