Chris August Megert, known professionally as Chris August, is an American singer-songwriter born on March 20, 1982, in Garland, Texas. He began recording music independently at age 15. In 2004, he released the self-produced studio album A Beautiful Thing under the name Chris Megert and the Love Jones. August relocated to Los Angeles in 2005 and collaborated with artists including Brian McKnight and Jessica Simpson before returning to Texas. After signing with Word Records, he released the studio recording No Far Away in 2010. The single âStarry Nightâ reached Number 1 on the Billboard Christian Songs chart. In 2011, August received three GMA Dove Awards, including New Artist of the Year and Male Vocalist of the Year. His discography included the studio recording The Upside of Down (2012) and the single âJesus, Saviorâ (2012). He participated in the Winter Jam tour in 2011.
