Biography

Cheryl Bridget "Pepsii" Riley, born on October 18, 1961, in Brooklyn, New York, is an American singer and actor. Her breakthrough came in November 1988 with the release of "Thanks for My Child", which topped the US R&B chart and reached Number 32 on the pop chart. This ballad was part of her debut album Me, Myself And I, released in June 1988. Other notable singles from this period include "Every Little Thing About You" and "How Can You Hurt The One You Love". Riley's subsequent albums include Chapters (1991) and All That! (1993), featuring collaborations with Full Force and covers of Aretha Franklin’s hits. After a hiatus, she returned to the entertainment industry in the late 1990s, appearing on tracks like "I Love It" and "Look Around" from The Beatnuts' album A Musical Massacre. Riley also starred in several gospel plays by Tyler Perry, including Madea's Class Reunion (2003) and Why Did I Get Married? (2006), as well as film adaptations like Diary of a Mad Black Woman and Madea's Big Happy Family. In 2006, she released her album Let Me Be Me, followed by Still Believe in 2015.
