Cherish the Ladies, an American female supergroup, was founded in Newâ¯York in 1985 by Mickâ¯Moloney to showcase Irish musicians, with Joanieâ¯Madden on flute and tin whistle. The group debuted with the live album Cherish the Ladies: Irish Women Musicians in America (1985) and followed with Out and About (1993), New Day Dawning (1996), Threads of Time (1998), At Home (1999), and The Girls Wonât Leave The Boys Alone (2001), featuring Arloâ¯Guthrie and Peteâ¯Seeger. Subsequent releases included On Christmas Night (2004) and Woman of the House (2005). The group performed, toured with step dancers, and contributed to Grammyânominated The Celtic Album with Boston Pops.
