Biography

Jesse Woodard, known professionally as Chase N. Cashe, was born on September 11, 1987, in New Orleans, Louisiana, and is an American rapper and record producer. After graduating from high school during the time of Hurricane Katrina, Woodard moved to Los Angeles in 2006 where he began releasing early productions on MySpace. This led to collaborations with local artists and producers, including Hit-Boy, with whom he formed the music collective Surf Club. His breakthrough came with co-writing and co-producing Lil Wayne's single "Drop the World" (featuring Eminem), released in December 2009, which became a multi-platinum hit. Woodard's notable works include collaborations with Drake, J. Cole, Kendrick Lamar, and Frank Ocean. He released several albums including Verde (2012), The Heir Up There (2012), and The Best There Is... (2014). Additionally, Woodard co-wrote and co-produced "Rise Up" for the soundtrack to the animated film Epic, alongside Hit-Boy and Sia.
