Biography

Chapel Club, an English indie-synthpop band from London, was formed in early 2007 by Michael Hibbert. The group consisted of Hibbert on guitar and keyboards, Lewis Bowman as the vocalist, Liam Arklie on bass, Alex Parry on guitar and keyboards, and Rich Mitchell on drums. After changing the name to Chapel Club in 2009, they signed with Universal Records imprint Polydor in November 2009 and released a debut album, Palace (2011). Notable singles from the album include "O Maybe I" and "Five Trees", which entered the NME chart at number 6. In March 2012, they parted ways with Polydor to focus on an electronic synth/sample-led pop approach. Their second and final album was released in 2013 under Ignition Records. The band announced a split on October 17, 2013, at St Pancras Old Church in London.
