Biography

Chantelle Barry, born on December 7, 1973, in Perth, Australia, is a singer. In 1999, she auditioned for the Australian version of Popstars, competing against over 2,500 hopefuls. After several elimination rounds, Barry was selected to form a girl group with Belinda Chapple, Sophie Monk, Sally Polihronas, and Katie Underwood. However, Barry left the group under controversial circumstances after stealing money from Sophie Monk. She later confirmed the incident in a 2006 appearance on Where Are They Now? and elaborated on it in subsequent interviews. Barry was replaced by Tiffani Wood, and the group became known as Bardot. In August 2009, she launched her debut solo album Simple Things in the U.S., followed by Songbird in 2012 and Lovers Gonna Love in 2018. Barry also recorded a version of "Poison" in 2020.
