Son Chae-young, known mononymously as Chaeyoung, was born on April 23, 1999, in Seoul, South Korea. She is a singer and rapper who gained prominence as a member of the girl group Twice, formed by JYP Entertainment in 2015. Chaeyoung began her journey into performing arts at a young age, taking dance lessons before joining JYP Entertainment as a trainee at age 13. She participated in the reality television competition Sixteen in 2015, securing her spot as a member of Twice. The group debuted on October 20, 2015, with their first extended play (EP) The Story Begins. As a soloist, Chaeyoung performed an unreleased track titled "My Guitar" during Twice's Ready to Be World Tour. Chaeyoungâs debut studio album Lil Fantasy Vol. 1, featuring the lead single "Shoot (Firecracker)", was released on September 12, 2025.
