Peniston's first studio album, Finally, was released in January 1992, followed by Thought 'Ya Knew in January 1994, I'm Movin' On in September 1996, and Celebratex (best of remix album) in June 2012. Her signature song "Finally" topped the US Billboard Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart for five consecutive weeks. Peniston has performed at high-profile events, including Aretha Franklin's private birthday party, Pope John Paul II’s inauguration ceremony, and both of Bill Clinton's presidential inaugurations. She was also the first foreign female entertainer to perform in post-apartheid South Africa.
