Biography

Caustic Resin, an American indie rock band from Boise, Idaho, formed in 1988 with guitarist/singer Brett Netson, bassist Tom Romich Jr., and drummer Pat Perkins. Initially performing in heavy metal venues, they collaborated with Treepeople and released their debut album Body Love Body Hate in September 1993. In 1995, Caustic Resin signed to Up Records and released Fly Me to the Moon, produced by Phil Ek, marking a shift towards alternative and space rock. The band subsequently released several albums including The Medicine Is All Gone (1998), Trick Question (1999) featuring bassist Mike Johnson of Dinosaur Jr., and The Afterbirth (2000). In 2003, they returned with Keep on Truckin', which included original drummer Pat Perkins. The band went on indefinite hiatus in 2003 but reunited for a performance at Treefort Music Fest in 2014. On January 15, 2025, it was announced that Tom Romich had died.
